Laser Technician

In order to expand our dynamic team, we are looking for a Laser Technician for our Laser Science Division, who has the opportunity to join our growing team in a location in Szeged, where research of outstanding importance initiated by world-renowned researchers is carried out in cooperation with renowned domestic and international scientific partners.

Our Research Center, led by 2023 Nobel Prize winner Prof. Dr. Ferenc Krausz, is looking for a laser Technician who will contribute to the proper operation of the laser laboratory in Szeged with their work and experience, and participate in the implementation of analytical measurements of human blood samples in a two-shift schedule (Monday to Saturday schedule with an average of 2 rest days per week).

Shifts: morning: 7:00 – 15:30, afternoon: 13:00 – 21:30.

Tasks:

  • Participation in the daily operation of laser systems
  • Understanding and trouble-shooting of the laser systems under the supervision of laser scientists
  • Providing active support to the laboratory assistance to operate the laser system
  • Working with human plasma
  • Evaluation of the quality of laser measurements (spectroscopic measurements of human blood samples) under the supervision of laser scientists and laser engineers
  • Performing administrative tasks related to the laser laboratory
  • Performing other additional activities related to the work of the laboratory

Our expectations:

  • Degree (Bachelor/Master) in Physics with preferably hands-on experience in optics and laser
  • Motivation to learn and execute complex tasks
  • Experience in spectroscopy is an advantage
  • At least intermediate level of written and oral English language skills
  • Knowledge of any kind programing language is an advantage
  • In addition to team spirit, precision, and independent work
  • System and process-oriented approach
  • Reliability, multiple tasks handling capacity, problem-solving ability
